I was semi surprised by Kristy, with Taylor and Haley, and Jason for my birthday. They came to my classroom at the end of the day on Thursday. I say semi surprised because when Ben started cleaning house--especially the bedrooms--something fishy was happening. And just to be on the safe side, I cleaned the bathroom. The final clincher was when he bought bacon. That may not seem odd to everyone. But the only time we buy bacon is when Kristy comes to visit. I don't know what it is...but she loves our bacon brand. When Ben put the pound of bacon in the basket, I knew something was up. When they walked into my classroom I was overjoyed. I didn't expect my surprise visitors to come into my classroom.
I had fun showing off my family to my class. One of the students went home and told her mom that Mrs. Gardener's baby came to class today. I don't let it go to my head. This is from my same class who had someone guess that I was 100. One thinks I can have a baby and another thinks I'm ancient. Go figure.
We have spent the day shopping, (I've been to the mall twice today--2 more times than I've been there since Kristy's last visit) eating (great Italian last night with leftovers today, lunch at the food court, and Marionberry pie--a gift from one of my students), and huggin' on those grandkids (what can be better than rocking a 2 month old?).
I mentioned to Kay while we were sitting that a family blog would be fun and not 2 minutes later she had Rutabaga Lovers set up. It will be fun to keep close via blog. I hope everyone takes part. I think it will be fun to stay connected. Thanks, Kristy!
