So --- Thursday nite I go to Bend with a couple of lady friends for dinner and a play at 2nd St Theatre. We went to Typhoon and had an incredible meal .... winter curry with rice, crispy chicken with fried Thai basil and tofu pad thai. The play was fun and we got back late, about 11:00.
Walked into my living room and my freakin' 8 foot Noble Fir had fallen over. It must have bounced off the piano, broke some beautiful depression glass candleabra that Rob had given me, knocked pictures off the wall and then crashed down onto the floor, breaking about 1/2 of my ornaments in the process.
It was awful. It literally took me all day friday to clean up the mess, reseat and re-decorate the tree. Talk about a downer. You have no idea how close that tree came to ending up in the front yard. Ho Ho Humbug

WOW!!! We have been there and done that with the tree that's for sure. Hope you have a happy Christmas regardless.
Susan, I feel your pain! We had a tree fall over just as our home teacher walked in the door. Argh! It was such a mess. We still blame the tree falling over on Bro. Drake. You are very controlled for not throwing it in the yard. (We didn't even put one up this year since we WERE headed to Spokane.) Hope to see you this weekend! xoxo
We've been there too. Middle of the night - a huge crash....ran down the stairs...I thought it had broken through the front window...but it didn't. Still broke lots of ornaments - some from Gina's grandma. It was horrible. Sorry about the mess - it does break the spirit a bit. Over time it gets better. We just call it the "year the tree fell over."
