The charm of the book is the crazy things the dog does, and his loyalty to his family. If you have seen previews for the movie, at one point the dog jumps half way out the car window, the guy grabs him by the back legs, and until they can get over in traffic they are driving down the road with the dog pawing along on his front legs. Some of the stuff probably wouldn't be as funny seeing it as having it described to you as you will probably miss some of the authors humorous comparisons and such. Some things just don't transfer well to visual mediums, and it will be interesting to see how they portray the dogs loyalty without being manipulative or overbearing.

Renee -- on my screen the yellow looks great. I have a hard time reading the red.
Jason -- if you want another good dog book, check out "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. It's my book club's pick for January.
I'll look for that next time I am at the library. I am always looking for good books to read, so keep the recommendations coming.
